Blackstone-Franklin Scholarship Application Deadline Extended to June 1
Fill out the attached forms for a chance to have your college book costs covered.
The Blackstone/Franklin Square Neighborhood Association has extended its scholarship application deadline to June 1. The association will provide the scholarship winner with money to partially cover the cost of books.
How much is the scholarship worth? The association will give out as much as it can raise. Last year, that meant eight students received $1,000 scholarships. The current tally is $14,700 raised, and the association is pushing to top $15,000, according to its website.
The scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who live in the South End, defined by the association as anywhere between Southwest Corridor, Herald Street, Albany Street and Camden Street.
