2012 Inc. 5000: Two Stoneham Businesses Appear on Inc. Magazine's Fastest Growing Companies List

Tenon Tours and StudyPoint cracked Inc. Magazine's 5000 list.

Two Stoneham businesses appear on the 2012 Inc. 5000 list which features the fastest growing companies in the country, according to the Inc. Magazine website.

Stoneham-based Tenon Tours, which is ranked 200th on the list, is the top tourism company on the list, according to the website. The 12-person company is one of two Massachusetts companies in the top 10 travel agencies on the list, joined by Luggage Forward which is ranked ninth in that subset, according to the website.

"(The company designs) and operates group travel packages to Ireland and Scotland. The tours are intended for people who, like the (unrelated) founders Vinnie and Bryan Lewis, want the security of pre-booked transportation and accommodations but also the freedom to spend their vacation time as they wish," read the website. "Package offerings include self-drive excursions, city-stay and city-hopper trips, group themed tours (singles, 50-plus, faith-based, etc), corporate incentives, and cultural experience programs."

Tenon Tours, which was founded in 2007, has seen their revenue grow 1,816 percent over the past three years, going from about $140,000 in 2008 to $2.7 million in 2011, according to the website.

Meanwhile, Stoneham-based StudyPoint checks in at number 3483 on the list. StudyPoint provides one-to-one in-home private test prep and tutoring for students in grades K-12, according to the site, and its nationwide offices have assisted over 15,000 students since its inception.

Founded in 1999, has experienced a 54 percent three-year growth, according to the website. The company has watched revenues increase from $4.4 million in 2008 to $6.7 million in 2011, the site reports.

StudyPoint has made the Inc. 5000 list six times, according to the website. The 33-person company ranks 61st in the education industry, the site reports.
