Attacking Our Selectwoman? Not So Fast

I see that Rep. Day's campaign manager is still attacking Selectwoman Caroline Colarusso. Once again they are wrong with their facts on illegal immigrants getting publicly funded state benefits. First, I would suggest they read the news. How many times have we seen stories of drug raids and the culprits have multiple EBT cards? There were numerous stories about President Obama's aunt getting state housing and welfare benefits. She was an illegal immigrant. Selectwoman Colarusso's comments were based on facts from the Center for Immigration Studies. Their work shows that Massachusetts has 225,000 illegal immigrants and 10% of them are collecting benefits that equate to 1.8 billion in Massachusetts annually. Colarusso believes our Legislature should provide lawful oversight of our tax dollars. Localities like Stoneham could be better served instead of always having to get the table scraps left over from Beacon Hill.

The Legislature while they deal themselves a lucrative pay raise, deny the sales tax holiday and freely distribute your hardworking tax dollars to those that are here illegally.

Colarusso has lowered our water and sewer bills, our trash fee and held the line on real estate taxes. She has done more in one term for our pocketbooks than Mike Day has done and he is now in his second term. Mr. Dalton should take note of that. She took on the business as usual establishment for all of us and she won.
