On Sunday, March 13th the Boston Bruins Alumni will once again be coming to Stoneham Arena to play in a charity game to help raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield. Former Bruins players participating this year are as follows; Bruce Shoebottom, Glen Featherstone, Andy Brickley, Ken Lindsman, John Carter, David Shaw, Tom Songin, Guy Larousse, Tim Sweeney, Rick Middleton, Reggie Lemlin, Bob Beers, Bruce Crowder and Jeff DuMont. This year marks the sixth year the former Bruins’ players will make their way to Stoneham where they will face off against the Bertucci’s Dough Boys.
However, this year the Bruins will not be the only familiar faces skating on Sunday, as the Bertucci’s Dough Boys will feature former Stoneham High School hockey and Boys & Girls Club alumni; Danny Lumb and James DeVine.
Danny Lumb 11’ and James DeVine 10’ both grew up at the Boys & Girls as kids and ever since walking away from the club as members, both continued to keep the connection they made all those years ago.

DeVine, now working for Enterprise Holdings Inc., has continued his relationship with the Club as he has actively participated in numerous fundraisers either through attending or donating raffles prices. Since The start of the event, James has played in every game and is once again excited for this years. “It is a feeling that never gets old, even in my sixth game. Growing up, I spent a lot of time at the club and to be able to give back and continue to be part of the Boys & Girls Club family is a great feeling.”
Lumb, recipient of the Boys & Girls Club’s Youth of the Year award in 2011, continued to keep his relationship with the club by becoming a part-time employee of the club until accepting a full-time position as the Program Director this last May. Unlike other days at work, Lumb will be strapping on the pads and will be playing goalie for the Dough Boys. “I am really looking forward to playing in the charity game. This will not only be an awesome opportunity for me to raise money for the club but I will be living out a childhood dream by getting to play against former Bruins’ players.”

Being a Board member of the Stoneham /Wakefield clubs and playing hockey my entire life, it was a perfect match to bring the two together!
