Celebrate Earth Day At the Stone Zoo
Learn about the zoo's conservation efforts and how you can join in.

Snow leopards, Mexican gray wolves, North American river otters and black bears are just a few of the incredible animals that call the Zoo home. In celebration of Earth Day, learn about the Zoo’s conservation initiatives and meet an animal up close at the Education Station located across from the flamingo exhibit. And don’t miss the zookeeper encounter at the black bear exhibit at 2 p.m.
And efforts to take care of the planet don't have to stop when you leave the zoo. Visit the Kids' Corner on the zoo website to see how to be a wildlife conservationist in your own backyard. There are tips on starting your own compost pile, how to turn your backyard into a certified wildlife habitat, creating your own butterfly garden, and becoming a nest watcher. And that's just the start. Find other ideas on what you can do on the zoo website.
