Do you want to help find a cure for Cancer? Then attend Relay For Life Stoneham- March Madness/Purple Blitz Night

Relay For Life Stoneham- March Madness/Purple Blitz Night

There are no requirements for this meeting except the willingness to help.  We want to spend two hours together as a committee, team captains, and members of the community to raise awareness for our event and call others to action!

We thought it fitting to call our meeting "March Madness/Purple Blitz Night" since it's that time of year for sports. Relay For Life has plenty of sports analogies, we are a group of people who come together as one team, for one purpose, one cause; CURE CANCER! Our meeting is on Tuesday, March 15th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Stoneham Senior Center, 136 Elm Street.

For new Relayers or people who want to learn more, the "new team" orientation is from 6:30-7pm to provide event information, share fundraising ideas, and to meet other Relayers. The rest of the meeting with be focused on taking action and reaching out- making phone calls, sending emails, confirming plans, and more. Our goal is to engage with new Relayers and old, to encourage them to register for this powerful event on June 11-12 at Stoneham High School.

Last year, over 550 people participated in Relay For Life Stoneham and raised over $143,000.

The more Stoneham community members who join us, the more of an impact we can make for cancer patients by helping the American Cancer Society provide programs and services (support groups, rides to and from treatment, a 24/7 information center, and free lodging near treatment centers) and fund research to help find the next breakthrough. For anyone who worries that one person cannot make a difference- raising just $100 could provide 10 rides to treatment or a night of lodging.
