EMARC Elects New Board Officers

The organization recently elected new officials to its Board of Directors.

EMARC recently announced its 2011-2012 Board of Directors and Officers. The elections occurred during the local nonprofit’s recent annual meeting, which marked the human service agency’s 57 years of continued community service for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. 

“I am so pleased to serve EMARC in this expanded leadership role,” said new Board chairperson Christine Flaherty.“Serving on the Board of Directors for the past eight years has provided me some solid experience as we look forward to maintaining the quality services that we provide for our participants, their families and the community.”

Outgoing chairperson Maureen O’Brien was acknowledged for her diligent service and was presented with a painting from the EMARC art gallery. She was touched by the gesture and commented by saying, “It means a great deal that one of our participants would create this lovely artwork with my interests in mind.” The painting is of Lake Winnipesaukee where O’Brien often vacations.

The board officers for 2011-12 are: chairperson Christine Flaherty, vice-chairperson Lisa Gibbs, Treasurer Brian McCoubrey and Secretary Deanne Cefalo. The Directors for 2011-2012 are; Ralph D’Amico, Elena Previte, John Mason, Susan Hubbard, Joel Rothenberg, Joanne Marqusee and Yvonne Zani.

EMARC is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities throughout 20 cities and towns north of Boston.

Since 1954 EMARC has helped its participants to live, work and play in our communities. The human service organization provides a wide-array of programming, which includes services for residential support, day habilitation, vocational training and family support services through their Family Resource Center.
