How did you like your last "Water Bill" Stoneham Residents; I'm sure you were applaud. I'm writing just so you the residents can have their opinion heard; "let there be no mistake, more then half of the residents agree they were uniformed/unaware and not ready for this increase". No matter who was responsible or master mind behind it the increase seemed unlawfully residents believe and a travesty. This is why our town is greatly divided because more and more residence want leaders who speak on there behalf and frankly there are not enough of these advocates being voted in. Why their not voted in you ask; because of; not enough campaign funds, lies(fake news) or opposite party giving them grief/hardship/worries, for the benefit of crocked politics. "I'll hire you if you get me elected" most STOP! So anyone out there thinking of running to stop this unforeseen revenue grab being done the wrong way I say RUN , RUN , RUN! Don't let anyone or anything stand in your way to fight for your family and residents of this great town of fighters we have in "STONEHAM."
So back to the water bill
1. Regardless of companies that were a revenue source by using water that no longer use's it, or city building not liable to pay ; that is in no way the residents responsibility to make up the difference and no one has the right to raise rates on them for that reason.

2. Regardless of bond rating , w if you play your cards right in other areas we will have a suitable one when needed. But, its wrong to raise a natural resource that we have plenty of, find another way to get revenue if the Bond Rate matters that much, with the way the rates are now you probably can bloom the Arizona Desserts and Stoneham paid for it.
3. The town had an obligation to warn people by all means of communication and have them vote on it. Residents have the right to know why your doing something like raising water rates; but the truth is their isn't a viable plan what Stoneham will do with the money. I do applaude our TA though let me make that clear he is constently working with both sides of the isle and truely cares for this town. On another note where is the plan for the High School infrastructure repair, where is the dedication to vamp up our DPW. The town has a great lag time to follow up on see clix fix with in a two day period, on our roads , on our sidewalks, on our utilities, and much more other department lag on see clik fix that are responsible for certain parts of towns property. Lets hire competent workers, that devoute themselves to be drug free from any recreational drug. How many see it town workers no matter what department must be an example to our children and show responsibility, and they must care for the town more then their pockets regardless on their own impression of the people that live in this town. Don't get me wrong their are great caring workers out there but they cant do it alone we need a town program for Training all town departments and have hiring day at least once a year. Teach interns (that want to eventually work for the town)how to do DPW tasks/repairs and emergency control procedures. In the mean time getting very hard competent workers, that will frankly "Answer the Call" to our residents that are surely paying their fair share more then enough. If that was promised to the town; then I and others wouldn't give so much back lash from the increased rate this FY18.

4. Constitutionally there may be a error in raising our water rates , and mismanaging fee's that should have gone back to the residence. In Amendment 13 the meaning is clear we shall not be subject to servitude; that statmeant may be broud but you better believe it fits in this scenario "by paying for a higher rate without cause." And if the reason is that town can make more money to look good for " bond rating" I still think Amendment 13 is being broken, by making our residents a servitude so that there town can get more money. And for what no plan; show us a plan for the high school infrastructure and new academic modern learning plan; and maybe we would not feel like a servitude ; but for know we are being treated like that.
In Conclusion, the majority feel that what ever the agenda was , Good for education or Good for Town Politics it wasn't a good enough explanation to raise a natural resource bill on the residents. Find another way but don't hit the struggling families of Stoneham while you claim " will help Stoneham in the long run" prove it with hard evidence ; e,g, Town meeting with large projector w/ screen to broadcast blue prints of our High school's needs, a 3d video clip of the ideas for our high school. And a flyer mailed when this can be showed to our residents at town hall for all residence to view, and flyers there on after on updates. Simply "put one's money where one's mouth is." PERIOD.
