John Diliberto Passes Away

He served in the Army in the Korean War and was awarded the Silver Star.

John K. Diliberto of Stoneham, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Saturday, September 2, at Winchester Hospital. He was 85 years of age.

Born on October 15, 1931 in Watertown, John was the loving son of the late John H. Diliberto and Greta (Stewart) Diliberto. John was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

John was the owner of Photech of Waltham for 27 years. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling. During the Korean War, John valiantly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army as a Corporal. He was awarded the Silver Star for his fearless efforts.

John was the beloved husband of Marilyn C. (Galasso) Diliberto. He was the devoted father of John K. Diliberto II and his wife Melissa, Valerie J. Snyder and Richard A. "Ricky" Diliberto and his wife Cindy. The cherished grandfather of Erica T. Mitchell and her husband Djai, Fawn M. Sarbanis and her husband Adam, Jack H. Diliberto, Ariel G. Diliberto, Angela S. Diliberto and Grace Diliberto, John was the great grandfather of Darren Hall, J'nya Jaquez, Makayla Sarbanis and Xavean Mitchell. He was the dear brother of the late Frank A. Diliberto. John was also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating John's Eternal Life will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 10 am in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham.
