Twenty state-of-the-art, luxury condominiums are soon-to-be hitting the market at 426 Main St. (across the street from the ) right in the heart of downtown Stoneham.
Judy McCoy, a real estate agent with , alongside daughter, Alli, are the women in charge of selling these swanky, new one-and-two- bedroom condos.
The location, a former shoe factory from the 1850s which was then turned into a furniture warehouse in more recent years, has now been revamped to house 44 luxury condos while still maintaining many aspects of the original 19th century Victorian aesthetics.

“We wanted to keep the apartments as affordable as possible while still maintaining the charm and quality of the original building,” McCoy said. “We focused on keeping aesthetics like all steel beams, cherry wood cabinets, granite table tops, a community roof deck, gates, big bay windows like the original factory, crown moldings in all the rooms, even the outside was remodeled to reflect the old aesthetic.”
McCoy said there is Acoustical Firebatt soundproofing in every room – a brand new technology that uses specialized moldings in between the walls of every room that act as a sound dampener not available in most condos.

When asked who would best fit in these new condos, McCoy said, “I think it would be someone downsizing from a big house or someone who is looking for somewhere maintenance free. The condos are secure, right in downtown Stoneham and more pedestrian than other places around.”
The McCoy's are currently looking to fill 17 garden-style one-and-two- bedroom condos. The one bedrooms start at $237,000 and the two bedrooms are $319,000. There are also three two-bedroom penthouse condos, each with their own private roof deck, that start at $349,000. Five units recently went on the market, with the rest coming up for sale by year's end.
“We are trying to blend the old school and the new school and create a nice new living community for downtown Stoneham,” McCoy said.
