Obituary: Kenneth Hickey, 47, of Stoneham
Hickey was a Medford Police Officer. He died Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Kenneth J. Hickey, 47, of Stoneham, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born in Everett on Nov. 11, 1967, and was the son of Lorraine (Sullivan) Hickey of Medford and the late George Hickey.

Ken was a native of Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1985. He later graduated from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department Basic Training Course for Corrections Officers in 1996 and then served with the Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the 12th M.P.O.C. and a 2007 graduate of the Weymouth Regional Police Academy.
Upon graduation, he received the “Lion Heart Award” for spirit, determination and dedication and went on to serve as an Officer with the Medford Police Department for the past eight years. He had been a Stoneham resident since 1993 and was a member of St. Patrick Church. He was also a member of the Medford Boat Club and enjoyed camping and fishing.

In addition to his mother, Ken is survived by his beloved wife Kara J. (Cuozzi) Hickeyand their loving children Lindsay and Craig Hickey, all of Stoneham. He was the brother of Michele Federico and her husband Frank of Stoneham and the late George Hickey, Jr. He was the nephew of Geraldine Lucas and her husband Richard of Methuen. He was the son-in-law of Ronald and Peggy Cuozzi of Woburn. He was the brother-in-law of Robert and Cheryl (Cuozzi) Roth of Hudson, Ohio, and Jon and Jill (Cuozzi) Goulet of Saugus. He was the uncle of Meaghan, Katelyn and Michaela Federico, all of Stoneham, Derek and David McHugh and Danielle Goulet, all of Saugus, and Cassidy and Grace Roth of Hudson, Ohio.
Ken’s funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, on Saturday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 9 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3-8 p.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth’s name to the Hickey Children’s College Fund at any Eastern Bank Branch.
