• Watertown shuts out Stoneham to earn decade-in-the-making win (bostonherald.com) — Stoneham High's football team was shut out 14-0 by Watertown, ending a decade-long winning streak in this Middlesex League matchup. Despite controlling the clock early with their wing-T offense, the Spartans couldn't finish drives, while Watertown capitalized with two touchdown passes to stay unbeaten this season.
   

• Winchester Committee for Community Preservation eyes eight projects for funding at Town Meeting (homenewshere.com) — Winchester's Community Preservation committee is backing eight projects for November Town Meeting, including major upgrades to Leonard Field pavilion and Packer Ellis Tennis Courts. One key question for Stoneham-area residents is Forest Ridge, a 13.7-acre parcel near the Middlesex Fells and Stoneham line that could be taken by eminent domain as developers show new interest.
