Police Log: Stoneham Man Arrested, Charged With Stealing Sneakers from Olympia Sports

Oct. 3

@7:44 a.m.: Police respond to Main Street across from Redstone Shopping Center for a report of a transformer explosion. NSTAR was notified of the problem.

@8:23 a.m.: Police called to the area of Myopia Road and Oak Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. No injuries reported.

@4:59 p.m.: Police respond to Main Street on a report that a woman's car was sideswiped while parked. Police to investigate hit and run incident.

@8:58 p.m.: Police called to Gerry Street and Michelle Lapointe, 64, of 206 West 84th St., New York, was arrested on outstanding warrants charging her with assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Oct. 4

@7:57 a.m.: Police respond to the area of Main Street and Montvale Avenue on a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident. One person was transported to Winchester Hospital.

@11:09 a.m.: Police arrested a local man at the police station. Brandon Norden, 18, of 15 Spring St., Stoneham, was arrested on a warrant charging him with a threat to commit crime.

@4:57 p.m.: Police respond to Leisure Lane on a report of a woman's rear license plate being stolen. Police to invest the incident.

@7:33 p.m.: Police respond to for a report of a man who allegedly walked into the store, tried on a pair of sneakers and left with them on. Police arrested and charged James Tobin, 59, of 59 Main St., Stoneham, with receiving stolen property. Tobin was also picked up on outstanding warrants charging him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop/yield and for having an uninsured motor vehicle/trailer.
