Relay For Life of Stoneham 2016 Schedule of Events

Relay For Life of Stoneham announces new activities for 2016.  The schedule of events includes:

Opening Ceremony at 6 p.m. followed by the Survivor lap. Cancer survivors and caregivers will walk the first lap around the track, celebrating their victory over cancer.

Survivor dinner at 6:30 p.m. Don't miss out on the survivor dinner! Angelo's Ristorante of Stoneham will be generously sponsoring and catering the dinner again this year. Please register ahead for the survivor dinner, visit www.relayforlife.org/stonehamma. After dinner, the survivor/caregiver lounge will open. The lounge is new this year, it's a place for cancer survivors and caregivers to relax and connect with others with shared experience. Come visit the "garden of hope" in the survivor lounge.

Fight back boxing demo- ongoing from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. We dare you to try this beginner-level "fight back" boxing/fitness demo to "knock out cancer," sponsored by Fire Up Fitness of Stoneham. You can participate in this demo in memory or in honor of a loved one by posting his or her photo on a bulletin board during the demo.  Please bring the photo with you, or submit it ahead of time at www.relayforlife.org/stonehamma.

Team lap at 8 p.m. Bring your team banner and celebrate! Of course, we will continue our tradition of fun "theme laps" throughout the night.

Luminaria ceremony at 9 p.m. You can remember a loved one lost to cancer and honor those battling the disease by dedicating luminaria. Candles are lit inside of personalized bags and are placed around the Relay track as glowing tributes. This year, you may submit the name and photo of your loved one which will be displayed in a slide show during the ceremony. Please bring the photo with you, or submit it ahead of time at www.relayforlife.org/stonehamma.

We will be collecting canned food items which will be placed inside the luminaria bags to hold them down.  The canned food items will later be donated to the Stoneham food pantry. Be sure to bring a canned item, it's a win-win for Stoneham!

Zumba at 11 p.m. It was so much fun last year, we had to bring it back!

Fight back ceremony at 4:30 a.m. We have a big surprise in store this year, you'll have to stay overnight to experience it! We are sure it will inspire you to take action year-round in the fight against cancer.

Closing ceremony at 5:00 a.m.

New activities for 2016 available during the early evening hours include a photo booth, corn hole tournament, video gaming truck, fast pitch baseball machine, bounce house and other fun and family-friendly activities. Don't forget to visit our raffle tent! The Stoneham High School booster club snack shack will be open from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. Enjoy music by DJ Buono of Spinner Music Productions.
