Relay For Life of Stoneham 2016: A Time to Celebrate Cancer Survivors, Remember Loved Ones Lost and Fight Back Against Cancer

Relay For Life of Stoneham is June 11-12 at Stoneham High School beginning at 6 p.m.

This year's Relay For Life of Stoneham promises a more personalized experience for all participants. You can remember a loved one lost to cancer and honor those battling the disease by dedicating luminaria.  Luminaria are paper bags containing votive candles that are placed all around the high school track and are illuminated after dark. This year, in addition to submitting names, you may also submit a photo of your loved one which will be displayed in a slide show during the emotionally powerful luminaria ceremony.  You can also participate in a beginner-level "fight back" boxing demo to "knock out cancer," sponsored by Fire Up Fitness Studio of Stoneham. You can participate in this demo in memory or in honor of a loved one by posting his or her photo on a bulletin board during the eve.  You can bring the photo with you the evening of the event, or submit it ahead of time for the luminaria ceremony and the boxing demo.  For more information on how to submit your loved one's name and photo ahead of time, please visit www.relayforlife.org/stonehamma.

The popular survivor dinner will once again be generously sponsored by Angelo's Ristorante of Stoneham.  After the dinner, we will offer a survivor/caregiver lounge, with comfortable Adirondack chairs, as a place for cancer survivors and caregivers to relax throughout the evening and connect with others with shared experience.  To register for the survivor dinner, please visit www.relayforlife.org/stonehamma, or call Kayla Hindle at 508-270-2884.
