Relay For Life of Stoneham: How Your Donation Makes a Difference
June 11-12 at Stoneham High School starting at 6 p.m.

What is Relay For Life?
First and foremost, it's a WALK, not a race around the Stoneham High School track! The goal is that each Relay team keeps one person on the track throughout the night to signify that cancer does not sleep. However, it's not a requirement that you or your team stays overnight- you can walk from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is the world's largest fundraising event to end cancer. At Relay For Life of Stoneham, we will come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much.

The event is open to the public on June 11th from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. It is a family-friendly event; there will be food, games, and activities for the whole family. Registered teams and participants can camp out overnight at the Stoneham High School football field and take turns walking around the track. Because it's a team event, individual participants are not required to be there the entire time, but it's so much fun- you'll find it hard to leave!
Why We Celebrate

We celebrate because we know the work we have been doing for the past four years is working! Relay is a time to honor our local community members, our family and our friends who have survived cancer. We serve them a lovely dinner at 6 p.m. Angelo's Ristorante of Stoneham will be catering this dinner under a big tent (as our event is rain or shine)! If you are a survivor (even if it's one day after your diagnosis), we invite you and your caregiver to dinner. To register for the dinner, please contact Kayla Hindle at 508-270-2774 or register online at www.relayforlife.org/stonehamma.
Why We Fundraise
Every year, the Relay For Life movement raises more than $400 million. The American Cancer Society puts these donations to work, investing in groundbreaking research in every type of cancer and providing free information and services to cancer patients and their caregivers.
Last year, over 550 people participated in Relay For Life of Stoneham and raised over $143,000. The more Stoneham community members who join us, the more of an impact we can make for cancer patients by helping the American Cancer Society provide programs and services (like support groups, rides to and from treatment, a 24/7 information center, and free lodging near treatment centers) and fund research to help find the next breakthrough. For anyone who worries that one person can't make a difference- raising $100 could provide 10 rides to treatment or a night of lodging. Raising $25 could help provide free 24-hour information and support via phone, email, and online chats for one person.
