Sanford Fogel, Korean War Vet, Remembered By Friends

Stoneham resident passes away at 82.

Sanford P. Fogel of Stoneham passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Feb. 25. He was 82.

Born on May 25, 1934 in Providence (R.I.), Sanford was the loving son of the late Joseph Fogel and Sadie (Finks) Fogel. Sanford was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

During the Korean War, Sanford was a proud U.S. Navy Jewish War Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Dyess DD 880 in Korea from 1951-1959. He was a loyal and dedicated bus driver for several years. He received several commendations for safety and safe driving.

Sanford was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Gubitosi) Fogel. He was the devoted father of John Fogel and his loving girlfriend Susan Cyr and her daughters, Laura and Lyndsey, Joseph Fogel and his wife Lueanne and the late Donna Marie Fogel. The cherished grandfather of Jamie Musgrave and her husband Mark and Danielle Fogel-Grimm and her husband Dusten, Sanford was the loving great grandfather of Mia, Bryce & Miles. He was the dear brother of Marianne Baker and the late Sydney Fogel. Sanford was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Entombment with Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, March 1st at 10 a.m. at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
