Stoneham Family Day Raises Money for Rebuilding Rounds Playground [PHOTOS]
The event was held Saturday, June 23 at Stoneham Town Common.
Despite early morning rains, Stoneham Family Day still received a decent turnout Saturday at the .
The event was created by the Rebuilding Rounds Committee, a group dedicated to restoring AP Rounds Playground, located at Broadway and MacArthur Street.
Family Day featured more than 40 tents from local vendors selling crafts, photography, jewelry, clothing, food, home improvement products, lotions and perfumes, woodworking and more. Added to this was dance music from a local disc jockey, a soccer expo, face painting and raffles.

Even more fun came in the form of a train from the Roaming Railroad that made its way around the Town Common, weaving its way through the tents with children smiling and waving from its cars.
While some of the vendors expressed mixed reviews about the event, visitors and event coordinator Angelika Paul were pleased with how things went during the fundraiser.

"We told people we expected about 2,000 people throughout the day and we got that, so we [Rebuilding Rounds Committee] are happy," Paul said. "This whole event was to raise money for the playground, and I don't think enough people understood that. I was a little dissappointed that the community hasn't stepped up to help, but created by myself and with a few other moms, we have already raised $15,000 after previous events and including today, so we are happy."
