Stoneham Girl Makes A Difference

10 year old, Skylar DiCecca, captures National Ambassador title in CA and starts her own organization helping sick children.

Hello! I’m Skylar DiCecca from Stoneham, MA. You may recognize me from the Stoneham Theatre where I have been part of the ‘the young company’ actors group for several years. I was seen as Tootie Smith in 2014’s MainStage production of ‘Meet Me in St. Louis’. I’ve also been busy working on several movies filmed around Boston. I am on a competitive dance team, I’m a 6th section black belt and I love doing pageants. I chose to participate in National American Miss (NAM) because they are a natural pageant system that doesn’t allow makeup on girls under 13, they do not allow swimsuit competitions and do not judge on looks alone. NAM focuses on academic and extracurricular activities. I have to hold a ‘A’ average in school in order to participate in NAM. I competed at the National American Miss pageant last summer and was 1st runner up for the state title. I obtained 14 awards and trophies and qualified to compete at the national level in Los Angeles this past November. At Nationals, I captured the title of National Ambassador. I competed in formal wear, interviewed with 9 judges, said a 1 minute personal introduction and presented my community service project. I love helping other people so I started my own organization, Trinkets and Treasures. I make and deliver goody bags for sick patients at Boston Children’s Hospital. Some items I collect are party favors, pencils, activity books, crayons, play doh and small toys. Please consider donating any toys or party favors you may have to my organization. For information email: Trinkets4kids@yahoo.com and follow me on Facebook at ‘ Skylar DiCecca’.
Thank you!
