Stoneham Police Nab 'Major Cocaine Trafficker'

Police recovered about 25 grams of cocaine.

A 28-year-old Boston woman was arrested and charged on cocaine trafficking charges following an investigation in Stoneham and other communities.

Stoneham Police and the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force arrested Yanna Hernandez-Mora, 28, of Boston, on Monday after a lengthy investigation.

“We allege that Ms. Hernandez-Mora was a major supplier of drugs in Stoneham and elsewhere, and I am proud to say that she is off the streets today,” said Stoneham Chief James McIntyre. “I want to thank our Stoneham Police Detectives and our partners in the Task Force, including other neighboring police departments and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office for their diligence and commitment to the task at hand.”

Detectives were conducting surveillance of the parking lot of 2 Main St., on Monday afternoon when they allegedly saw Hernandez-Mora drive into the lot. They approached the woman’s Toyota Prius and found 25 bags of cocaine that weighed about 25 grams, as well as $1,200 in cash.

Police arrested and charged the Boston woman for trafficking in cocaine. They also seized the $1,200 and vehicle.

Hernandez-Mora is expected to be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Tuesday morning. If convicted, she faces a mandatory minimum imprisonment of two years and a maximum sentence of 15 years.
