Here are some programs and activities coming up from the Stoneham Council on Aging

Arts & Entertainment

Paint Day with Raquel – Thursday, March 14, 9:30am, $7.00. If you’ve ever wanted to try a paint night, this could be just what you’re looking for! Raquel is back to create a guided step-by-step themed acrylic painting. No experience required. Sign up at the center.

St. Patrick’s Day Dance – Friday, March 15, 2-4pm $5.00. Once again, please join us and enjoy the music with Gary Leanus. They’ll be lots of dancing and light refreshments will be served.

Spring Fling Sock Hop – Thursday, March 21, 4:30-6:30, free. Join us for a late afternoon of music and dancing with music by the Memory Laners! Hot dogs, chips and root beer floats provided. Poodle skirts, bowling shirts and saddle shoes encouraged! RSVP to the Select Board Office at 781-279-2680 to reserve your place.

Health & Wellness

Nutrition and Healthy Aging Workshop – Monday, March 18, 25 & April 1 at 9:30am. This 3 week series will include lessons and activities pertaining to healthy eating, osteoporosis prevention, meal planning, cooking for one or two and healthy recipe ideas. Join graduate student Nicole Kulaszka for this informative and interactive workshop. Call the center at 781-438-1157 for more information.

Men’s Breakfast- Wednesday, March 20th, 8am – free

Lunch and Learn: Falls Prevention Program – Monday, March 18, noon, lunch. Join us for this informative presentation by students from Mass College of Pharmacy. Learn what you can do to prevent falls. Sign up at the center by calling 781-438-1157.

Education

E-Device Course A workshop for getting to know your smartphone, tablet, laptop - free, 1pm, call the center to sign up. Classes on March 18, 25, April 1 & 8. Sing up by calling 781-438-1157.
