Stoneham Weather Alert: Winter Storm Warning In Effect

Rain is expected to change over to snow ahead of the Friday morning commute.

STONEHAM, MA - It appears the groundhog was mistaken. Stoneham is in for three to five inches of snow on Friday, and the worst of it is expected during the morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning to Southeast Middlesex county from 1 a.m to 3 p.m. Friday. The warning says that snow totals could reach between four and eight inches.

According to Weather.com, overnight rain will change over to snow around 4 a.m., Friday and continue throughout the commute and into the early afternoon. Weather.com is projecting between five and eight inches of snow in Stoneham.
