I would like to take this opportunity to express my support of Jaime Wallace for School Committee. I met Jaime a year ago when Nichole Nial ran for school committee. At that time, I knew that Jamie would be a fantastic fit for the Stoneham School Committee. I couldn't have been more excited for the future of Stoneham when she told me she was
running.
When I look at the special skills each member the Stoneham School Committee bring to the table, I note that Shawn McCarthy's skills are difficult to replace. Shawn is a finance guy and though everyone on the committee understands some about finances, it is well worth having someone who works in finance for a living. Shawn is retiring this year which leaves a hole. Jaime Wallace is the only person running who has this same qualification. Jaime brings to the table vast experience in working with budgets in the tens of millions of dollars. She also brings her experience in working as the Stoneham PTO president for many years.
As I've said before, perhaps the most important traits of a good elected official is to be involved and informed. Jaimie Wallace has attended just about every school committee meeting for the past year. I have never seen a candidate become more educated about the school system and school budget than Jaime Wallace. When she speaks on issues about the schools, she knows what she is talking about because of the many hours spent researching and working on behalf of the schools.
I urge you to vote for Jaimie Wallace for School Committee on April 3rd.
