There are two seats up this year on the Stoneham School Committee. While I’ve ask you to vote for Jaimie Wallace for one, I would ask you vote Thomas Dalton for the other one.
When I have addressed graduating classes of Stoneham High, I’ve always encouraged students to continue their education. I encourage them to see the world, gain experience and form their own opinions. I always say, once you’ve done that, bring that experience and knowledge back to Stoneham and serve the community. When I handed Thomas Dalton his diploma that day, I could never have known how precisely he would follow that advice.
Thomas left after graduation to attend UMass Amherst to study political science. In the process, he has honed in on his interest in local government. When he returned to Stoneham, ready to serve the town, he sought appointed to the Finance and Advisory Board, where he has worked hard for two years as Secretary. As we all know, the Finance
and Advisory board is the watch dog board of the town and in turn gives a crash course in the specific inner workings of the town finances. Thomas has worked hard on behalf of constituents and taxpayers, offering valuable and unique perspectives on the issues at hand. You only need to read his meeting minutes to see his commitment to transparency and good government, and you only need to speak with him or watch him on Stoneham TV to observe his competence and common sense.

I’m supporting Thomas Dalton for Stoneham School Committee on April 3 because he has the work ethic, municipal experience, and the passion to serve our students and our schools. He’s a lifelong Stoneham Spartan, and he took my sentiment from 2013 fully to heart: he left Stoneham, bettered himself with education, and returned to serve Stoneham in earnest. Please join me in supporting Thomas Dalton for Stoneham School Committee.
