According to police, the suspect entered the store displaying a blunt object and saying he would inject AIDS, according to Police Chief John Carmichael, if the clerk did not give him cash.

“The clerk pulled out a baseball bat from behind the counter,” Chief Carmichael said, causing the suspect to run out of the store.

The case may also have a connection to a similar incident in Stoughton. On Thursday, an unidentified man left Central Liquor Mart with a drawer full of cash after threatening the clerk with a hypodermic needle.

Stoughton police Detective Sgt. Robert Welch told the Enterprise that they are looking into if the cases are connected but are not sure at the moment.

Police are also looking at if a knife-point robbery at Neighborhood Variety Store on School Street Sunday night is related.
