Student Artwork From Uganda To Be Featured At Sudbury Gathering

SUDBURY, MA — A Massachusetts nonprofit will host a gathering in Sudbury focused on student artwork, essays and education for girls in rural Uganda.

The African Food and Peace Foundation event will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at The Clubhouse at The Northwood Condominiums, 90 Northwood Drive. Guests will view artwork and personal essays from students at the URDT Girls School in western Uganda and help select pieces for the second edition of the book It Takes A Child To Raise A Village, according to AFPF.

The event is hosted by Annie Gray and David Kuhns, according to AFPF. The organization says the evening will include food, wine, student stories and updates from Uganda Rural Development and Training programs.

AFPF is a nonprofit founded in 1981 and based in Concord. The foundation says it has partnered with communities in Uganda for more than 40 years to support education, women’s leadership, and community-led development.

The nonprofit supports long-term development initiatives in rural Uganda, including work connected to the URDT Girls School, according to AFPF. The foundation says its programs focus on helping girls, women and families build leadership skills and self-sustaining futures.
