Sudbury Recognizes Pride Month, Family Pride Day
Sudbury PRIDE Day is scheduled for Sunday.
SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury has again proclaimed June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, tying the annual recognition to a local Pride Day celebration planned this weekend.
The Select Board proclamation recognizes June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in Sudbury and the second Saturday in June as Family Pride Day, according to a town notice posted Tuesday. The proclamation was approved by a Select Board vote on May 24, 2022, and applies to June in future years.
The proclamation says Pride Month recognizes the Stonewall Uprising and the start of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. It also says Pride is a time to recognize the trials endured by LGBTQ+ people and the work of people who have fought for full equality.
