SUDBURY, MA — It's a very blustery Tuesday afternoon with Tropical Storm Isaias bypassing Massachusetts along the New York border — but the state is under a tornado watch until tonight. Apart from the weather, here are some other stories we've been keeping an eye on in the MetroWest and Worcester areas today.
In Sudbury, a public hearing will be held soon over Eversource's plan to bury an electricity transmission line along a former MBTA rail corridor. There are also plans to build a multipurpose rail trail on top of the corridor, but towns including Sudbury and Hudson have opposed the project due to concerns it might harm the local environment.
Sudbury sued the MBTA in 2017 to stop the project, but a state court ruled against the town. The transmission line corridor would travel through parts of Marlborough, Stow and Hudson.
