The Friends of the Goodnow Library have helped fund library programs and resources for more than 30 years, and to date, the Friends have contributed more than $1.5 million. The Friends are able to do this because it is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff or consultants and very low operating expenses. This is why memberships at any level have great impact.
Each year the Friends supplement the annual library budget voted by the town. Your taxes do not fully fund the library, and the Friends provide those programs and resources desired by patrons, but not paid for by the town.

This is your opportunity to support the Friends and allow us to continue to
provide programming for adults, teens, and children including summer reading programs for all, the Sunday Afternoons at Goodnow Program Series, An Evening with an Author Series, Mama Ballroom, Itsy Bitsy Yoga, teen programs, special school vacation programs, and much more.

This is your chance to enrich library offerings by helping to fund new programs and to help fund all the passes to area museums and attractions, the subscription to Book Page, supplies for children’s programs, the library entry gardens, and copy machine and supplies.
Membership forms are available at the main circulation desk at the library and online at www.friendsofgoodnow.com. You will receive our newsletter, be invited to special Friends events, and you will join a vibrant community of library lovers who are dedicated to maintaining a quality library.
