Goodnow Library Planning To Restore Lending Service
Libraries are among the many facilities in Massachusetts that could reopen soon as coronavirus slows down.

SUDBURY, MA — The director of Sudbury's Goodnow Library is looking forward to a day when the library can begin lending to the public again. In a message to library patrons on Tuesday, she said a plan to restore service is "underway."
The Goodnow Library closed on March 13 due to coronavirus. The closure was only supposed to last two weeks. The library has been offering services online-only since.
"Our restoration of services plan is underway, and includes contactless pickup," Director Esmé Green said Tuesday. "We know it will be a popular service, and we're committed to getting it right for the safety of our staff and the community. We appreciate your patience as we work through the details."

The library has been holding plenty of events since the March closure, including yoga classes and story time through Facebook. The library also offers online resources like e-books, research catalogs, and access to periodicals.
Any materials checked out before the coronavirus closure can be returned to the library's side drop slot (not the free-standing one). But library materials can be kept until June 30 without penalty.
