Hate Message Found at Sudbury Middle School: Police Investigating

SUDBURY, MA—Police and officials are investigating after a "white pride" sticker was found outside of a Sudbury middle school.

Police Chief Scott Nix and Sudbury Public Schools Superintendent Anne Wilson reported that the Sudbury Police Department and Sudbury Public Schools investigated a hate incident at Ephraim Curtis Middle School (ECMS) on Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning, a white pride sticker was found on a prominent pillar in the eighth grade wing. Police were immediately notified, the sticker was removed, and the entire building was searched for any other similar markings or messages, reported police. None were found.

Principal Stephen Lambert met with all students in grade-level assemblies to inform them about the incident and reiterate that symbols or expressions of hate are not tolerated, said the announcement.

"EMCS continuously strives to ensure all students feel welcome and safe, regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation," said the announcement. "Students came forward with information and the student who placed the sticker was identified. Disciplinary procedures were followed and the police and school administration will continue to work together to educate students and work with families to facilitate a safe, hate-free environment for all members of the school community."
