L-S All Sports Boosters 12th Annual Golf Classic May 18th!

Once again, L-S All Sports Boosters will hold its 12th Annual Golf Classic on Friday, May 18th. Golfing begins with a 7:30 am shotgun start, scramble format, and takes place at the Wayland Country Club. In addition to raffle prizes, awards, and a luncheon following the event, there is also a $5K Hole in One prize!

Lincoln Sudbury All Sports Boosters is an all-volunteer organization comitted to supporting all athletic teams at all levels including 9th grade, Junior Varsity, Varsity and Club teams. Since its inception in 1991, K-S Boosters has donated well over one million dollars to L-S Athletics. Recently, the Boosters contributed to the very specialized process of removing snow from the turf fields, and responded to requests from over 25 teams for things like tournament fees, video equipment, and training equipment. The Boosters recently approved a new sound system for the stadium field, as well. In the recent past, L-S Boosters has helped to fund the new track resurfacing and new turf for the lower fields, enjoyed by our whole community.

Donna Noyes, a mother of two L-S student athletes says, “We are so grateful for all of the opportunities Boosters has offered our children. We have benefitted from ice time for hockey, new baseball bats, and training for coaches. We also appreciate that our membership allows us easy entry with no gate charge to athletic events. It’s hard to imagine what the athletic program would look like without L-S Boosters.”

The annual Golf Classic draws parents of athletes and non-athletes, coaches and teachers, and business owners with their employees. It has become a tradition for Connelly Partners, owned by Steve Connelly, to use the tournament as a company outing. Parents of younger, local kids enjoy connecting with friends off of the sidelines doing something they love while investing in their children’s futures.“This is a can’t miss event. High school athletics was one of the more positive, formative experiences in my early life. I wouldn’t miss an opportunity to play any small part in helping high school kids in our town enjoy those same experiences. The fact that it is such a well run, fun event, with great friends is a bonus, says John Schneider, a parent of sons at Noyes and Curtis.
