Lincoln-Sudbury Swim Team Set for Another Strong Season
Both boys and girls squads bring back experienced competitors.

The Lincoln-Sudbury co-ed swimming and diving teams look to build on their historic 2010-2011 campaign as they begin competition in early December.
In recent years the team has dominated the competition and made a name for themselves as one of the elite teams in high school swimming. This is largely due to the excitement and camaraderie the team feels when swimming for their high school.
The boys team is coming off its fastest year in school history, which included winning the Dual County League championship and placing second in States to rival powerhouse St. John’s Prep.

Senior captains Bryan Johnson, Ryan Kenney and Sam Mackie will lead the Warriors. Kenney and Mackie will look to make their mark in the breaststroke and individual medley events, while Johnson looks to continue his dominance in the freestyle events.
Adding experience and high-level speed will be Ryan Fleming, Tom Edwards and Joey Merullo. Last year Fleming opened the state championships by leading his relay team of Mackie and two graduates to the state title and an All-American consideration time by running down St. John’s Prep and the rest of the field.

Rising stars looking to contribute this season include juniors Taylor Brown, Dylan Brown and Matt Shelley. The freshman class is also loaded with potential and looks to make an immediate impact.
The boys team looks to break even more records than last season, establish some All-American times, and overcome St. Johns Prep for the state title.
On the girls side, Megan Griffin and Kathryn Thomas will captain the squad. The girls won the state championships last year, dominating the field from start to finish. They also placed a strong third place at the DCL championships.
Although losing several incredible swimmers and divers, the Warriors return state championship experienced swimmers Alicia Perry, Catherine MacKeen, Leah McCabe, Jenny Genovese, Caroline Hultin, along with divers Emma Jarczyk and Catherine Lewis.
This core group looks to provide some many points this season and make another run for the title.
