Sudbury Duplexes debuted with a grand opening in November of 2012 with a new duplex at 19 Greenwood Road, reports the Massachusetts Housing Partnership. Lifelong Sudbury resident Jo-Ann Howe of the Sudbury Housing Authority is credited with originally getting 12 affordable housing units built in town in the 1980s, and continued to seek out land in Sudbury to develop more, including for the Duplexes program.
The town supported the Duplexes program with a comprehensive zoning permit, and also $600,000 from Community Preservation Act funds and $150,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
