Sudbury Police Dispatcher Injured While Serving U.S. Navy During Conflict With Iran
He and colleagues experienced several missile impacts resulting in minor injuries, the police department said.
SUDBURY, MA — A police desk assistant from Central Massachusetts, who is deployed overseas with the U.S. Navy, is recovering from minor injuries.
A Sudbury police dispatcher was hurt during the current conflict with Iran, the Sudbury Police Department shared in a social media post on Sunday. The dispatcher, identified as Owen Gerow by NBC10 Boston, was originally mentioned in the post, but the department amended it to remove his name.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with our military personnel in harms way, to include one of our own who is currently deployed overseas with the United State Navy," Sudbury police wrote. "He and his colleagues experienced several missile impacts resulting in minor injuries they are mending."

Sudbury police also said they were unable to provide any additional comments related to his military service.
The U.S. and Israel launched a major attack on Iran on Saturday, which led to the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other leaders in the country. Iran also retaliated by launching missiles and drones toward Israel and U.S. military bases in the region, Associated Press reported.

Four American troops have been killed, and several others were seriously wounded during the attacks, according to AP. President Donald Trump said there could likely be more losses in the coming weeks.
