More Mosquito Spraying Planned In Sudbury

SUDBURY, MA — More mosquito spraying is scheduled in Sudbury next week as local officials work to control mosquito populations.

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project plans to use a truck-mounted aerosol sprayer in several areas on Aug. 19, the Sudbury Health Department announced on Thursday. Spraying will take place between sunset and 11:30 p.m.

The scheduled areas are near Landham Road, Woodside Road, Raymond Road, Nobscot Road, Goodman’s Hill Road, Old Lancaster Road, Rice Road, Horse Pond Road, Codjer Lane and Tall Pine Drive. The full route will include additional roads not listed by the town.

The latest treatment follows the latest round of mosquito spraying on Monday near Country Village Lane, Austin Road, Barton Drive, Oakwood Avenue, Reeves Street, Pratt’s Mill Road and Evergreen Road.

Crews will apply Zenivex E4 at a rate of 1 ounce per acre. The town says the product is a reduced-risk pesticide with low toxicity.

Residents who see a spray truck approaching should go indoors for several minutes while the spray dissipates and close their windows to minimize exposure. Beekeepers do not need to take special precautions because spraying will begin after sunset.
