New Lincoln-Sudbury Relay For Life Opportunity
New Pairathon and Half-Pairathon will be held at the Relay for Life event where participants walk the equivalent of a full or half-marathon!
Attention Relay for Life Fans:
Relay for Life is on Saturday May 20th and we're excited to share a fun new Relay opportunity!
For the first time in Relay for Life history, our Lincoln-Sudbury Relay For Life event will be hosting a Pairathon and a Half Pairathon! Pronounced like "Marathon," a Pairathon is a combined 26.2 miles traveled by two people at a Relay For Life event. For a Half Pairathon, two people would combine to walk 13.1 miles.
On average, people who run marathons while fundraising for nonprofit organizations raise significantly more money than people who participate in Relay. Now you have the chance to fundraise for a marathon or half-marathon, but you don’t have to run! What’s even better is that you will be partnering up with a friend to be walking buddies to keep you motivated!
Pairathoners will team up to walk at least 26.2 miles at our Relay event and combine to $2,620 for this year's Relay. Want to participate, but hesitant to commit to that level of fundraising? Have no fear -- our Event Leadership Team is here to help! Reach out to Madison Walsh or Gabriella DeSantis for fundraising ideas and more information to sign up!
Don’t have a team? Not to worry, you can sign up with a friend and still take part in the event!

If you can't do the full Pairathon, maybe the Half Pairathon is more your speed!

Half Pairathoners will be required to raise at least a combined $1,310 while teaming up to walk 13.1 miles between the two of them.

Participants will receive customized Half Pairathon batons and Half Pairathon medals.
At Relay all Pairathoners and Half Pairathoners will be honored in an Olympic style ceremony with Pairathon and Half Pairathon medals and batons going along with this year’s theme. Each group can choose their favorite song to be played as their National Anthem as they receive their medals on the podium. Not only that but you will get a year’s worth of bragging rights :)
Worried about getting too tired? Not to worry, you will stay motivated with your very own Pairathon pack to keep you going. You are going to work at the event anyway, might as well get a reward for your hard work!To put these numbers in perspective, each Pairathon team would raise enough money to fund nearly a month of a patient's stay at a Hope Lodge and each Half Pairathon team's fundraising could provide 130 rides to and from treatment for cancer patients in need!
We hope you'll consider participating in this brand new program!
