Sheehan Takes Helm As New Sudbury Town Manager

Sheehan, the former Middleton town administrator, will hold office hours with the public in February and March.

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury's first permanent town manager in nearly a year started work this week.

The Sudbury Select Board in December picked Andy Sheehan to take over as the town's chief administrator. He began work on Monday, according to the town.

Sheehan will meet with town residents at two office hours sessions coming up at the Goodnow Library: Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. at the octagon, and March 2 at 4 p.m. in the library's conference room.

Sheehan, formerly the Middleton town administrator, takes over from Henry Hayes, who resigned suddenly in June. The select board formed a search committee shortly after, and narrowed down 26 applicants to three top candidates: Sheehan, Maynard Town Administrator Gregory Johnson and Southbridge Town Manager Michael McCall.

Sheehan took over as Middleton's administrator in 2015. Sheehan is also a certified by the American Planning Association.

Assistant Town Manager Maryanne Bilodeau served as the interim town manager between Hayes and Sheehan.
