Newton's Restaurants Mostly 'Superior' and 'Excellent,' Says New Rating System
Newton is trying out a new health grade rating system for restaurants. See how they are doing.

Launching a new program implemented by Newton’s Health and Human Services, Newton’s restaurants mostly rate as either “superior” or “excellent.”
Inspectors use a four-point rating for restaurant’s safety practices with categories “superior,” “excellent,” “fair” or “unacceptable,” reports the Boston Globe.

By October’s end, 61 of Newton’s 200 restaurants had been rated, but only a handful did not earn the “superior” or “excellent” range.
