Milley was killed while leading his soldiers during combat operations in the Baraki Barak district of Afghanistan, where insurgents attacked his unit. Milley was 23, and the recipient of the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Purple Heart. The Lt. Scott F.
