Sudbury Domestic Violence Nonprofit Seeks Donations During Lent

Gifts of Hope Unlimited is seeking household items for victims of domestic and relationship violence.

SUDBURY, MA — The Sudbury nonprofit Gifts of Hope Unlimited is holding a Lenten donation drive seeking soft household items like blankets and towels. The donations will be turned into cash that the nonprofit will use to pay for supplies for its assistance program.

Gifts of Hope Unlimited (GOHU) raises resources to help individuals and families impacted by relationship violence.

Working with Our Lady of Fatima parish in Sudbury, GOHU is conducting a clothing and soft goods collection fundraiser during the Lenten season. Donations can be dropped off at Our Lady of Fatima, Hurley Hall, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury, Sunday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For other drop-off locations and times, please email giftsofhopeunlimited@gmail.com.

Items accepted in this Savers FUNDrive are clothing, shoes, bedding and towels, and accessories in any condition. No appliances, baby gear, mattresses, or large furniture can be accepted. Donations should be placed in 30-gallon plastic trash bags. The GOHU goal for this fundraising drive is 217 bags! Donations will be taken to Savers, which pays by the pound for the bags.

The funds raised go to GOHU’s product assistance program, purchasing household basics such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies, small appliances, sheets and towels needed by people moving out of domestic violence shelters and into new homes.

GOHU is a tax-exempt, nonprofit, all-volunteer organization based in Sudbury. It provides timely financial assistance and basic home resources to individuals and their families rebuilding their futures. Learn more at www.giftsofhopeunlimited.org.
