Sudbury Grocery Store Worker Accused Of Stealing Scratch Tickets: Report

SUDBURY, MA — A Marlborough man who worked at a Sudbury grocery store is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in scratch tickets over several months, according to reports.

Marcos Albano Da Silva, 38, was arrested Tuesday at Stony Brook Market & Liquor, 29 Hudson Rd, and charged with larceny of more than $1,200 by a single scheme, according to MetroWest Daily News, citing Sudbury police.

Police said the store estimated up to $40,000 in scratch tickets may have been taken, though investigators have confirmed at least $10,000 so far and are still auditing the losses, MetroWest Daily News reported. Police said Da Silva scanned tickets, discarded losing tickets and cashed in winners, according to the report.

He pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Framingham District Court and was released without bail, according to MetroWest Daily News. He was ordered to stay away from the store and is due back in court Sept. 24.
