Angels 4, White Sox 2, Majors Semifinals-June 19
In a well played and exciting semifinal playoff game, the Angels came back to defeat the White Sox and move on to the championship game. The Angels came ready to play as Jack Urdang pitched 3 solid innings (5 K’s, 0 R) to start the game. The Angels offense did not get going until the third inning when Owen Madigan walked with two outs and Cole Pathak (3 H, RBI, 2 R) drove him in with a hard hit double. The pitching and defense on both sides kept the game competitive, with Max Martin’s exceptional performance behind the plate leading the way in the defensive department. With the White Sox leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning, the Angels started their come back. Pathak led off with a single, followed by a great at bat from Teddy Smith who earned a walk. George Curry, who was injured earlier, launched a clutch shot to right center driving in two runs as the Angels took the lead. Jack Maclean followed up with an RBI single for an insurance run. Smith came in to close the game on the mound to seal the win. The loss ended the incredible season for the White Sox who had previously gone undefeated in the playoffs. The White Sox solid pitching was led by Nicholas Bettenhauser, who pitched 2.2 innings strong, with 4 K’s and 1 run allowed. Matt Joachim pitched 2 innings, picking up 2 K’s, along with two great defensive plays off the mound. Nico Andolina pitched the final 1.1 innings. The offense was led by Jesse Sun who doubled in the leading run in the fourth inning.

Angels 14, Phillies 3, Majors Championship-June 21
The Angels played their best all around game of the season at the time it mattered most, defeating a talented Phillies team to win the 2014 Majors Championship. The Angels offense got going quickly when Max Martin (2 H, 2 R) and Cole Pathak (2 H, 2 R) got on base and were driven home by Teddy Smith's first of two home runs on the day; a three run blast to left center. The Angels continued their offensive show with three more runs in the second inning. Owen Madigan (2 H, RBI, BB), George Curry (2 H, 2 R), Jack Maclean (H, R), LG Bascones, Jack Hallal (H, R) and Blake Pailler (H, RBI) all contributed to a strong performance at the plate for the Angels. Chris Streillen also launched his first double of the season to continue the Angels attack. The Angels pitching and defense were solid as they held a strong Phillies team to just three runs. Teddy Smith started on the mound and pitched 3 strong innings. Jack Hallal and Cole Pathak each pitched a scoreless inning in relief and Max Martin came in to close the game. The Angels capped off an amazing season with a true team victory in this championship game. For the Phillies, Will Canavan pitched 2 strong innings along with Will Maillett who also pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Charlie Murphy (2B, R) and Chris Williams were strong at the plate with hard hits.
