SUDBURY, MA — The town is officially looking for proposals for operators ad managers of the newly acquired Camp Sewataro. Sudbury voters approved the purchase of the 44-acre property for $11 million last month in a special election. The vote of approval was a narrow one with just 2,561 in favor and 2,195 opposed.

The town started the search on Wednesday and will accept proposals until 11:00 a.m. on July 31. The previous camp owners sold the property to the town.

The vote to acquire the land and camp was a contentious one, with spirited debate on both sides. Sudbury's Town Meeting voted in June month to buy the 44-acre property for $11 million. To pay for the land, the town planned debt payments for 20 years beginning at $1 million and decreasing through the years with the final payment being $586,000.
