SUDBURY, MA — A section of Dutton Road was temporarily closed Wednesday as crews addressed a water main break.
Dutton Road was closed between Hudson Road and Pratts Mill Road, Sudbury police announced around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible.
No estimated reopening time was announced.

The closure follows planned repair work near 587 Dutton Road that began around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Six properties between Moore Road and Hudson Road were expected to lose water service from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Sudbury Water District.

The Water District initially said Dutton Road would remain open during the work. The town later announced the temporary closure because of the break.
Customers may experience pressure changes or discolored water after service is restored, the district said. Residents should run cold water until it becomes clear and avoid using hot water while discoloration remains.
