Sudbury Special Town Meeting Articles Due Monday

Sudbury will hold a citizen-initiated Town Meeting in January. You have until Monday if you want to add articles.

SUDBURY, MA — A special citizen-initiated Town Meeting in Sudbury will be held in January to consider creating a new historic district in town. But locals can also add articles to the meeting warrant, and the deadline is coming up soon.

The special Town Meeting will be held Jan. 2 to consider creating a historic district around the Stone Farm Tavern along the Boston Post Road. If approved, the historic district would protect the 3-acre Stone Farm Tavern property and buildings. The property dates to the 1730s, and has ties to the American Revolution and Civil War eras.

The warrant period for the meeting opened on Nov. 20 and will continue until Dec. 2 at 9 a.m. Articles must be hand-delivered to the Selectman's office. This week, Town Hall will close at noon on Wednesday, and will be closed all day on Thanksgiving and on Friday.
