MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AT PURITAN LAWN MEMORIAL PARK

Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody will honor all veterans, past and present, on Sunday, May 29th, 2016 at 11 a.m. at their annual Memorial Day Service to take place at the Veterans Circle of the cemetery. The public is invited to attend this event to pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country. This service will include readings from members of the Puritan Lawn community, the Lynnfield Knights of Columbus, and Pastor Tom Coots. Bagpipe music will be provided by Iain Massie of the Boston Pipers Society.

Our veterans will also be honored throughout the weekend with the annual Boulevard of Flags display that includes 50 U.S. casket flags donated by family members to be proudly flown along Pierce Boulevard.

Smaller U.S. flags and flower arrangements for placement on individual graves are currently available and will continue to be offered throughout Memorial Day weekend. All proceeds from the sale of flags and raffle over the weekend will support NEADS World Class Service Dogs since 1976. NEADS provides service dogs to veterans who are coping with physical limitations, hearing loss and post-traumatic stress. Since 2006, this organization has placed almost 100 dogs to deserving veterans. To support this organization, you can purchase a grave flag for $5 or enter our raffle for $1. Extended visiting hours will be observed throughout the weekend. Gates will be open to vehicular traffic from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and our office staff will be available from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. An information booth will be placed at the Veterans Circle with Puritan Lawn staff members on hand to assist visitors in locating individual gravesites.
