North Shore Fisherman's Body Recovered
Manoel DeSonsa was swept out to sea while fishing on the North Shore at Rafes Chasm Park.
GLOUCESTER, MA — The body of fisherman who was swept out to sea and drowned in Gloucester last week has been recovered.
Manoel DeSonsa was fishing at the rocks at Rafes Chasm Park Tuesday when he fell in at about 2:50 p.m., the Coast Guard said. Another man fishing with Desoza also fell in but made it back to shore.
On Thursday, the Coast Guard found DeSonsa's body about a half-mile west in Magnolia Point.

The Coast Guard said it immediately launched a search after DeSonsa was reported missing. The search spanned over 100 miles before DeSonsa was found.
