Benjamin "Ben" Acampora Remembered in Swampscott

Benjamin “Ben” Acampora passed away suddenly on July 15 from a drug overdose at the age of

33, in Phoenix, AZ, after an on-going battle with drug addiction.

children. He demonstrated a quick wit with a big heart and was kind and trusting towards all he

met. He will be remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Ben is survived by his parents, Margret and Andrew Acampora, two sisters, Elizabeth Meade

and Julie Doherty, two brothers, Gregory and Edson Acampora, and six nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey Street,

Swampscott, MA at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 24. Ben will be interred at Lowell

Cemetery, 77 Knapp Avenue, Lowell, MA on Thursday, August 25 at 11:00 am.

Donations in remembrance of Ben can be made to the organization working to address the on-

going drug addiction epidemic, Shatterproof, at 101 Merritt 7 Corporate Park, 1 St Fl., Norwalk,

Connecticut 06851.

In honor of Benjamin’s life, we ask that truth continue to be spread regarding this epidemic to

help raise needed awareness.
