Swampscott, Lynn Students Eligible For Disabled Veterans Scholarships
The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 64 is offering four scholarships to students who volunteer with or are related to disabled veterans.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott and Lynn graduation seniors who either volunteer with disabled veterans services or who are descendent of a U.S. disabled veteran are eligible for Disabled American Veterans Chapter 64 scholarships.
The program will award four scholarships with one in each category going to a graduating Lynn high school senior and graduating Swampscott high school senior.
The scholarships can be used for any accredited post-high school education.

Applicants will be required to submit an essay of no more than 500 words on what volunteering for veterans means for them (for the volunteer scholarship) or what are main concerns for a divided nation and how can we work to bring it together (for the relative scholarship).
Eligible volunteer opportunities include work dedicated to disabled veterans at the Veterans Administration Medical Centers, work for the Local Veterans Assistance Program or work for other local veteran services organizations.

Those eligible for the relative scholarship must be a natural or adopted descendant of a member of the Disabled Veterans Department of Massachusetts. Applicants must provide proof of relationship and that the veteran is a member of the DAV.
